REACTION TO LINGARD’S POSITIVE COVID-19 TEST
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Jesse Lingard both gave their response after it was announced that the Manchester United midfielder had been tested for Covid-19.
Red for life have been very successful in this pre-season campaign and caught the eye of our three friendly matches, with Derby County, Queens Park Rangers, and Brentford.
Lingard was excited to play in our last game of the summer, playing against Everton at Old Trafford, but unfortunately, the Academy graduate was not identified after a fine coronavirus test.
The 28-year-old now separates himself from government and Premier League policies.
It remains to be seen whether Lingard will feature in next Saturday’s opening match of the 2021/22 season, against historic rivals Leeds United at Old Trafford.
Speaking to us before the start of the match, Solskjaer gave the player an update: “You can take all the safety measures and you can meet someone and something happens.
“Jesse has done very well in preparation for the season but he will come back sharp. I don’t think it’s too bad. ”
Responding to the disappointing setback on social media, Jesse sent a message to his fans: “It’s really shocking to be diagnosed with HIV after a good preparation for the season.
“Luckily I feel healthy and I will follow the guidelines and get the boys back on the field as soon as possible. Thank you for your support. ”
Manchester United forward Jesse Lingard is isolating after the club confirmed he has tested positive for Covid-19.
